Deep Categories

With a much deeper understanding of app categories, our ML technology eliminates unfit audiences to precisely target maximum value users for your mobile app. Though perfected for both Android and iOS, by utilizing enhanced contextual data instead of IDFA dependent data, deep categories is ideal for mobile user acquisition campaigns now and post-IDFA.

At first glance, current app store categories appear to be a straightforward way to classify users for targeting. However, by considering category-centric user profiling, three major flaws appear. App store categories are:

  • Subjective
  • Inconsistent across different stores
  • Limited

The fastest-growing category, games, is most commonly challenged by these limitations.

Real Time Data Analysis

ML technology that uniquely analyzes all relevant data in real-time to merge deep categories contextual data with deterministic metrics for immediate, crystal-clear access to audience behavior. Depending on the app, as determined by Appstract’s Deep Categories, an interruption in a trivia game with set time limits could be as low as 30 seconds, on a quest game, where one can pause, it could be two hours, on a multiplayer game, where players are waiting, it could be less than 30 seconds. It’s very important to be in real-time so we can understand the session as it’s going. We need to know when they came back in real-time, and we need to know the depth the user is inside the session in real-time.

Targeting High LTV Users

When we bake in cross-app behavior analysis and enhanced deep categories, Appstract delivers the highest possible LTV users at the best possible time for your mobile app.

A good ML model needs to not only be able to identify the obscure qualities of high LTV users but also output a “user score” that is precisely proportional to that quality. When predicting whether or not a user is going to have a high LTV, the model should calculate the following at the time of an auction:

  • The probability that that user is going to click on the ad
  • The probability that that user will install given a click
  • The probability that that user will not churn immediately or after one use of the app
  • The probability that the user will make a purchase or see many ads
  • The probability that the user will make repeated purchases

Retargeting Across the Funnel

With robust in-app and cross-app behavioral analysis our ML technology incrementally retargets high quality users from the top of the funnel– before their peak potential, to mid-funnel– increasing engagement, and bottom-funnel– securing retention. By retargeting high affinity users, diminishing churn, and re-engaging, our platform secures users with the highest possible LTV.
